#8 - The Dragon

We've covered a great distance together.

You were always on my shoulder, whispering,
guiding me towards my destiny
as still you do
Some would see a devil in disguise:
horns and flame and wings as wide as pride
and here you are, some 30 years down the line
still whispering to me the secrets of my life

My angel, Dragon on my shoulder
My saviour, energy of nature's core

In winter you have slumbered, quiet as a rose
In spring you have awoken, as glistening as prose
In summer do you burn like Phoenixes reborn
In autumn will you simmer down, reflecting on what's done

And still your essence remains on my shoulder.

Still your tears are rain, your blood salvation.

Still we walk together, whatever life may hold
Beneath your wings, this soul has found its home.
