The end approaching,
life pooling at your feet
You dare not kill the flame
for fear it will stay dimmed.
Close your eyes and breathe deep;
exhale;
the Flame will persist.
I drew this in the middle of a burn-out; in the meantime, the burn-out has won, and I finished the pic afterwards. This piece has a lot of meaning to me: aside from being the first drawing I made this year, it expresses all the pain I have felt from having to keep pushing myself beyond limit, beyond limit, beyond limit... until the candle burned out.
But the Flame will always prevail.

At first glance, I was thinking that this would make a great piece to colour in...you know those kinds of colouring in books where there are outlines for a person to colour in? That's what I was reminded of when I looked at this piece.
For this piece to have so much symbolism to you only adds further depth to the concept and story behind it. It's quite humbling to know how much this piece means to you, especially as the outlines convey a kind of simplicity.
